About the course:
If you are curious about the body/mind aspect of yoga and how it can help you or your students, join Christine for a deep dive into fascia and the nervous system. Learn how working with both can help you to unravel persistent pain and build a healthy, collaborative relationship with your body, mind and spirit - both on and off the yoga mat.
This course will teach you the language of your nervous system states from the inside out. You will come away with an ‘instruction manual’ to help you move and meditate well, both in your formal movement practices and as you move through life. You’ll also learn how to create client centered classes, and help your students to build their own trauma-informed self care programs.
Through a combination of live teaching sessions, mindfulness-based movement practices and experiential homework assignments you will explore the often-untapped wisdom of your body, the power of your integrated brain and nervous system and the transformative potential of harmonizing polarities.
An overview of the six sessions:
- 6th Oct: What is a trauma-informed movement (or self care) practice?
- 13th Oct: The neuroscience of mindful movement
- 20th Oct: What is a somatic approach to wellness and self care?
- 27th Oct: A deep dive into your nervous system states and how they affect your tissue tone
- 3rd Nov: A fascia-focused approach to movement, meditation, and self care
- 10th Nov: Learn how to track non-verbal body cues and use this information to create a safe space for your students
Course details:
- This live, 6-week online course starts on October 6th.
- It runs every Wednesday evening from 17:00 - 20:00 CET.
- There will be 90 minutes of teaching, followed by a 90 minute interactive Q&A session with a short break in between.
- Additional, optional homework - 30 mins per week.
- The course is limited to 40 people
About Christine Wushke:
Christine has been helping people find wellness and spiritual transformation for over 20 years. She is a certified yoga therapist, a certified Hakomi practitioner and a specialist in Myofascial Massage. Christine runs the Journey to Light Wellness Center and is the author of the book Freedom Is Your Nature. Christine’s simple yet effective techniques will help you build self-awareness, interoception and, most importantly, a loving relationship with your body.
