José de Groot
José specialises in teaching Yin Yoga Anatomy and Meridians Teacher Trainings, and has been doing so since 2007. Blending expertise in yoga, functional anatomy, meditation, pranayama, meridian and Chi stimulation, as well as Chinese Elemental theory and yoga philosophy, José invites her students to tune into their bodies, teaching them to understand the purpose behind poses and create a practice that works for their bodies. Drawing on decades of study with renowned teachers like Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, José's wish for everyone is to be free in body, mind, and spirit – not bound by comparison, external validation, or the feeling of not being good enough.
"The 50-hour training was very good. I chose it specifically because I wanted to go a lot deeper into anatomy. José's methods are very inspiring. Combining theory and practical application made aspects that are more complex clearer, easier to grasp, and a lot more accessible."
"This training was a great experience. I'm a Vinyasa teacher who has now developed an interest in Yin. This course provides the key foundation from which to build up, starting with the bones, muscles, ligaments and fascia, and gradually unfolding into a pose. It's given me renewed energy for my own practice and for moving into teaching Yin."
"I found it very interesting to see that not one pose is the same for every person, that everyone has a different variation that will lead them all to feeling the same target area. José is a very good teacher. Her demonstrations and getting us all to practice ourselves was very useful. Realising that everyone is different and unique and how to accommodate that when teaching is the main lesson I've taken with me from this training."
