Â
You may already sense it in your yoga practiceâthat moment when effort dissolves into ease, when breath leads movement and something ancient moves through you. Qigong gives that something a name: Qi. And it offers the tools to work with it intentionally, gracefully, and with deep respect for its power.
Qigong (æ°Łć) is a traditional Chinese system of cultivating life energyâknown as Qiâthrough coordinated movement, breath, and intention. At its core, Qigong means âenergy workâ or âskill with Qi.âÂ
This course is your invitation to enter the world of Qigong as a yoga teacher. Not by setting aside what you already know, but by deepening it. Youâll learn how to feel Qi in your own body, how to attune to the meridians and the elemental cycles, how to align form, breath, and heart-mind in every movementâand how to skillfully incorporate Qigong within Yoga classes.
Drawing on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist philosophy, this training weaves together theory, embodied experience and clear directives for intelligent sequencing. Youâll explore the Five Elements, the twelve rivers of energy known as the meridians, the Dantian energy centers, and the cyclical wisdom of the Meridian Clock. But more importantly, youâll explore what these mean in practiceâthrough breath, stillness, and sequences that awaken the physical body, but also the subtle body.
Youâll learn:
This course is made for you if:
No prior experience with Qigong is necessary, just an open mind and a willingness to explore.
Welcome to the course! You will discover what you will learn in this training designed specifically for Yoga practitioners and teachers interested in deepening their knowledge of Qigong.
In this lecture, you will learn about the five main types of Qigong, how Taijiquan ć€Șææł (sometimes known as 'Taichi') and Qigong are related to each other, and the history behind the development of Qigong.

In this lecture, you will be guided through the main benefits of Qigong and safety considerations relating to sharing Qigong with three special populations.
In this lecture, you will learn about the three tenets of Qigong: aligning form (body), breath and heart-mind; è°èș«ïŒè°æŻïŒè°ćż, as well as the five qualities of form and seven qualities of breath to embody in the practice of Qigong.
In this lecture, you will learn about the five fundamental Qigong concepts and how to apply them within your Yoga practice or classes, as well as in daily life.
You will learn how Qigong is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Meridian Theory.
In this lecture, you will learn about Yin Yang theory, the five underlying principles of Yin Yang, and how YinYang underpins everything in the world, including your body and internal organs.
You will discover the Five Elements or the Five Moving Forces - Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal - and how they relate to your practice and teaching of Qigong.
You will explore meridian theory and discover how your twelve main meridian channels correspond to the Five Elements and Yin Yang.
You will learn about the three elixir fields Dantian äžčç° and the three treasures äžćź, what they are, where they are located, and how they relate to your practice and teaching of Qigong.
In this lecture, you will learn about the meridian clock - a profound energy system that integrates many principles including the Five Elements, YinYang theory, and meridian theory - and how it connects with the various organ systems in the body.
In this lecture, you will learn about the six key meridian points within the body in relation to Qigong and how to connect with them.
"Man corresponds with nature: In heaven, there are Yin Yang;
in man there are 12 large joints of the limbs."
"When one understands the principles of the 12 joints,
a sage will never surpass him."
Chapter 25 of the Yellow Emperorâs Inner Canon highlights the importance of the twelve joints: ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Qigong, which emphasises posture and body structure, applies the twelve-joint theory as a foundation for health practice.
Qigong warm-ups focus on creating spaciousness in the joints and stimulating the meridian channels to support the smooth flow of Qi throughout the body.
In this section, you will learn the following Qigong warm-ups:
- Joint Releases
- Emptying Coat Sleeves
- Qigong Shaking
- Meridian Tapping (Upper and Lower Body)
- Spinal Cord Breathing
Â
You will discover standalone Qigong forms and how you and your students can benefit from them. These can be used to start a class, as warm-ups, or as short complete practices when sequenced with joint releases, tapping, or shaking. They are effective as a day-starter or midday energy booster. When cueing these sequences, integrating intention and vivid visual imagery will help you and your students fully benefit from the practice.
You will learn the following standalone forms:
-Â Looking for Moon & Sea
-Â Two Base stances
-Â Microcosmic Orbit & Macrocosmic Orbit
-Â Pulling from the Heavens
-Â Experiencing Qi & Holding the Taiji
You will learn the following practices:
-Â Abdominal Diaphragmatic Breathing
-Â Daoist Inner Smile Elemental Practice
-Â Embrace The Tree Standing Meditation
-Â Three Part Breath
Â
In this class, youâll explore how to integrate Qigong into your yoga practice and classes using the 5W + H framework. Youâll learn intentional and intelligent sequencing techniques, discover how to dismantle limiting beliefs around sequencing, and gain five practical tips for blending yoga with Qigong.
You'll be invited to share in the comments section a sequence, to be discussed with Wenlin and fellow participants.
In this 45 min Qigong Yoga Fusion practice you will experience the benefits of integrating Qigong in your Yoga classes.
