Welcome to the Mudras section of the course in which we dive deeper into the art of hand mudras – sacred gestures that can be used to enhance focus, balance energy, heal the body and deepen your meditation practice. Throughout the following five sessions, we will explore our hands as energy maps and practise various mudras. We'll also look at how to integrate mudras to support our yoga practice.
In this foundational session, we'll explore what hand mudras are, their ancient origins, and how they serve as powerful tools for meditation, healing, and energy alignment. We'll look at the connection between hands, elements, and chakras – you'll learn how each finger represents one of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether) and how these elements link to the body's chakra system, creating a holistic map of energy. You'll also experience each finger as an energy field, and we'll try some practical exercises to sense and activate the subtle energy emanating from each finger. This will deepen your understanding of how mudras work on a vibrational level.
This class sets the stage for the practices to come, giving you the knowledge and awareness to unlock the full potential of hand chakras.
In this class, we will explore the following transformative mudras: Gyan Mudra, often referred to as the Mudra of Knowledge, Vayu Mudra, also known as the Mudra of Air, Dhyana Mudra, the quintessential meditation mudra, and Anjali Mudra, the Mudra of Reverence. Maha Bandha (The Great Lock) is a powerful combination of all three primary bandhas: Mula Bandha (Root Lock), Uddiyana Bandha (Abdominal Lock), and Jalandhara Bandha (Throat Lock). Maha Bandha is known as the 'Master Lock', offering transformative benefits for the body, mind, and energy flow. In this class you’ll learn what Maha Bandha is and how it integrates the three individual bandhas. Véronique is a yoga therapist and certified advanced breathwork practitioner. She first qualified as a Vinyasa yoga teacher in 2009 and then completed a 500-hour advanced training in yoga therapy five years later.
Specialising in supporting individuals with low energy, fatigue, and burnout, Véronique developed a deep interest in techniques for enhancing and managing energy more effectively. This led her to study Pranayama and pursue advanced training in breathwork. She completed a two-year advanced breathwork training, recognized by the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GPBA) and the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF).
